Author Conservatory Student Review Blog Tour Kickoff

AC-Banner

Now, I know many blog tours are for a specific book. Well, we wanted to mix things up a little bit and try something new.

This is going to be a tour of reviews of the Author Conservatory program presented by the students in the Conservatory. We have amazing students and they have thoughts on their experience in the program so far, so the students thought it would be fun to share those thoughts in the form of a blog tour!

What is the Author Conservatory?!

Jasmine QuoteFor those of you who don’t know, the Author Conservatory is a three-year higher education program for young writers who want to learn how to build a long-term, sustainable career out of their writing. You can learn more by checking out the website, asking any questions below, or just by reading the students’ reviews in the tour!

How am I connected to Author??

I’ve been a student in the program for a little over a year now, so I’ll post a review alongside the others 😉 But I’m also an Admissions Advisor and the Community Manager for the program.

As an Admissions Advisor, I get to talk to students and parents who want to know more about the program and if it would be a good fit for them or not. It’s such a joy to serve interested families in this way and by getting to know your specific situation, I can give you next steps to pursuing your writing goals.

As Community Manager, I work with students inside the program to make sure they have the support they need! I love getting to know my fellow students and walking alongside them in their journeys!

But more on my experience later. Let’s talk about how this is going to work!

Schedule

Savanna QuoteThe tour runs from tomorrow, November 11th until Wednesday, November 24th. You can find some bonus reviews on Instagram from many of our students during the next several days!

The first student review on the blog tour goes live tomorrow! Check out Savannah’s thoughts on Author here!

Prizes

Yup! You heard me! PRIZES!

For anyone who participates in the tour, best-selling authors Brett Harris and Kara Swanson will be hosting a live Office Hours where you can ask your questions about writing, careers, Author, and more! Our beloved Brett & Kara co-founded the Author Conservatory to help writers reach their dreams of becoming self-sustaining authors.

At the end of the tour, you’ll be directed to a Wrap-Up post (here on my blog) with details on how to register for the Office Hours. Additionally, you’ll find a link to submit your name for two giveaways!

Charis Quote

The first giveaway is for six winners. My fellow Admissions Advisor, Josiah DeGraaf, and I will host individual 20 minute coaching sessions via Zoom. Josiah is the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of Story Embers as well as the Program Director of the Young Writers Workshop. We will each pick three names and spend 20 minutes with each winner to discuss your writing goals and questions. This prize is open internationally.

The second giveaway is for one grand prize winner! Each Author student is required to start a business, so the grand prize is a physical pack featuring products and services from our very own Author students!! The grand prize includes:

  1. Whoohoo!! I’m so thankful for the enthusiasm and initiative our students have shown to organize this blog tour and share their thoughts on The Author Conservatory. I can’t wait to read these reviews and connect with blog tour participants for an Office Hours call. =)

  2. A couple of questions: What do you mean by google form? Will you post it somewhere? And do we have to come back to this to get the links to the blog posts for the tour?
I’m so excited for this though!!!

    1. Hey, Selah! Thanks for stopping by!

The Google form will be linked in the wrap up post on the last day of the tour. It’ll be here on my blog the day before Thanksgiving.

The first blog tour link is in the post above and will be on Savannah’s blog tomorrow! She’ll post a link to the next review which will be up on Friday, and so forth 😁

      Does that help?

    1. Gurl, you have no idea how I feel that craziness!! God’s timing is INCREDIBLE but it also drives us nuts sometimes! Learning to wait on Him is SUCH a precious experience ❤ It is ALWAYS worth waiting on His plan and His timing! Praying for you, friend!

  6. I’m planning on applying for Author early 2023. I’ve never seen anyone else combine the business and the writing side of being an author in the way you all have 🙂

  7. Yes! I can already tell that this will be super helpful!
I’ve been wanting to join the Conservatory for a while, (my parents and I have decided it would be best if I wait till I’m a little older), and I can’t wait to hear more about it!

    1. Hi, Terah! Thanks for joining us! The blog tour is free! You may participate by reading as many or as few blogs as you like! There are 11 reviews total and the tour ends the day before Thanksgiving. If you’d like to be entered for the giveaway, you will need to comment on all 11 blog reviews and fill out the form at the end of the tour.

If you are asking specifically about Author, then yes, it is a higher education program, and like any college, it has a tuition. The program has a number of spots available monthly for students to joined, but is currently booked out at least until February. You can find out more details by checking out their website (linked in the post) or I’d be happy to email you. You can shoot me a message via the Contact page on my blog.
